What is a Project/Class?

You can create Classes (or Projects, however you prefer to call them) for the purposes of classifying all transactions in the system with a category. For instance, you may create a Wholesale and Retail class, then an e-Commerce class. Then you might create sub-classes underneath e-Commerce that classify all your different e-Commerce channels (Amazon, Shopify, etc). This is a good way to group Orders together and you can even run reports showing you how your Wholesale is doing versus your Retail and e-Commerce.

To create a Class and classify transactions with that class follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to the Project/Class module.
  • Create a Class by filling in the Name, Code, and Subclass (if necessary).
  • View and confirm your Class structure in the Project Centre.
  • You can now annotate orders or transactions with the class you created.

The Project Info module is a good way to quickly overview all the information about a project and any of its sub-projects. You can view its Sales, Expenses, Invoices, Bills, Transactions, and Orders/Estimates.
