I’m getting an error message “Customer deposit with the same reference number already exists…”. How do I resolve this error?

If you are trying to make multiple payments to a Customer using the same Payment Method, then while importing the Orders from Shopify to Xoro, the system can throw this error.

Why does this error occur?

This error can generally occur when, for instance, you are trying to receive payment in Xoro for the same customer using the same Payment Method (Credit Card). The Credit Card number (the last four digits) will be populated in the Reference Number field in the customer deposit. This can lead to duplicate Reference Number. Ideally, the system does not allow duplicate Reference Numbers and thus this error.

How do I resolve this error?

There is an App Config in the system, Allow Duplicates in Customer Deposit Reference.

Enable this App Config to allow Duplicate Reference and re-run the error to resolve it.
