Common Ship Station Errors and Suggested Resolutions

Ship Station errors are mostly related to Shipping Address, Ship Service and Carrier Service, and can be fixed easily in most cases. In this article, we have covered the most common Ship Station errors and how to resolve them.

But, before moving to that, let’s first look at how can you find the Ship Station errors.

How to find the error

  • Navigate to the 3PL Connections module.
  • Under the “Connected 3PL Connection” tab, click on ‘Ship Station Fulfillment’.

  • In the Ship Station Fulfillment module, you can see the errors under the Orders tab.

Common Ship Station errors

Here’s the list of most common Ship Station errors:

Postal Code is missing in the Shipping Address Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Ship-to Postal Code is missing.
City is missing in the Shipping Address Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Ship-to City is missing.
Country is missing in the Shipping Address Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Ship-to Country is missing.
State is missing in the Shipping Address Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Ship-to State is missing.
Carrier Code is invalid Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Invalid carrier code in request: UPS.

• fedex
• canada_post
Ship Service code is invalid Order -{Order Number.Wave Number} –
Invalid ship service code in request: FEDEX.

How to resolve the errors

Ship-To Address-Related Errors

Here’s an example of Ship-To Address related error:

For Ship-To Address related errors, such as missing Postal Code, Country, City or State, please follow the steps below:

  • Open the particular Sales Order, scroll down to the bottom of the page and edit the Ship To Address.

  • Add the missing field(s) and save the Shipping Address. Then, Save the Order.

  • Next, go to the Wave Centre and search the Wave using the Sales Order number.
  • Select the Wave and from the Options tab, lock and unlock the Wave by clicking on Lock wave(s) and Unlock wave(s) respectively to re-trigger the Wave to the Ship Station.

  • Alternatively, you can right-click on the Wave and Toggle Lock Status twice to lock and unlock the Wave and re-trigger it to the Ship Station.

  • The system will automatically process the Order.

Carrier Code Error

Ship Station has set particular format for the Carrier Codes and if the Carrier Code in your Order does not match that, then it will throw an error: Invalid carrier code in request. To resolve this type of error, please follow the steps below:

  • In the Error Message, you can see the Invalid Carrier Code and the acceptable Carrier Code.

  • Open the Sales Order and check the Carrier used under the Shipping tab.

  • Go to the Carrier Centre and search the Carrier Name using the Advance Search option. Then, double-click on the Carrier Code.

  • It will open the Carrier module.
  • Change the Carrier Code to one of the acceptable Codes and click on Save.

  • Next, go and Save the Sales Order.
  • Next, go to the Wave Centre and search the Wave using the Sales Order number.
  • Select the Wave and from the Options tab, lock and unlock the Wave by clicking on Lock wave(s) and Unlock wave(s) respectively to re-trigger the Wave to the Ship Station

  • Alternatively, you can right-click on the Wave and Toggle Lock Status twice to lock and unlock the Wave.

  • Next, go the Ship Status module Fulfillment module and re-run the error to resolve it.

Ship Service Code Error

Ship Station has set a particular format for the Ship Service Codes and if the Ship Service Code in your Order does not match that, then it will throw an error: Invalid ship service code in request. To resolve this type of error, please follow the steps below:

  • In the Error Message, you can see the Invalid Ship Service Code and the acceptable Ship Service Code.
  • Open the Sales Order and check the Ship Service used under the Shipping tab.

  • Go to the Ship Service Centre and search the Code using the Advance Search option by using the Name of the Service. Then, double-click on the Ship Service Code.

  • It will open the Ship Service module.
  • Change the Ship Service Code to one of the acceptable Codes and click on Save.

  • Next, go and Save the Sales Order.
  • Next, go to the Wave Centre and search the Wave using the Sales Order number.
  • Select the Wave and from the Options tab, click lock and unlock the Wave by clicking on Lock wave(s) and Unlock wave(s) respectively to re-trigger the Wave to the Ship Station.

  • Alternatively, you can right-click on the Wave and Toggle Lock Status twice to lock and unlock the Wave and re-trigger it to the Ship Station.

  • The system will automatically process the Order.
